Engineering Portfolio
Hi! My name is Jillian, and I'm in my third year of mechanical engineering at Northwestern University. The aim of this portfolio is to supplement my resume and display some of the projects that I've completed so far in classes, clubs, and independently.
Last updated: September 2026
A 1:1, 90 degree gearbox used to transmit power from the main gearbox to the prop shaft of the 2025-26 Northwestern Baja SAE vehicle, enabling the car to use 4WD.
A set of 3D printed caliper arms for the rear brake of a road bicycle. Used CAD, FEA, and topology optimization to create and refine the design.
An interactive videogame with a force feedback joystick. Uses SMT32 and Raspberry Pi microcontrollers. Controls and force feedback programmed in C, graphics programmed in Python.
A mechanism to continuously feed wire into the spindle of Dauber, a metal additive manufacturing machine that utilizes Additive Friction Stir Deposition (AFSD).
A few other projects I've designed that aren't quite long enough to merit their own pages.
